Ta Da! Welcome to my new blog. I’ll tell ya…the moments before hitting publish on my last post were comical….Do It…Don’t Do It…I finally had to dare myself, LOL. I hope we’ve got it right and that I showed up in your feed a single time and not eleventy hundred times or something equally odd. If you’ve a few moments to spare, please look at my home page and the categories etc. I value your feedback…if anything is confusing, missing, annoying, or otherwise head scratching, please let me know.
My look today is decidedly casual {in hindsight I’m thinking a pretty dress would have been more celebratory}. Once again, I’m wearing harem pants…you’ve seen the pattern here. This rendition is made with a poly/lycra blend…definitely not my first choice…but I love how beautifully the blue complements the blue in my t-shirt. Not much more to say, except that I still this silhouette is fun.
My colour blocked t-shirt is Deer and Doe’s Plantain T-Shirt and it’s proving to be a favourite. You can download it for free here. Yes free! I’ve made….ahem….five of them. One of the things I really like about this tee is the slightly A-line silhouette; the only adjustments made were raising the neckline 1-3/4″, and making short sleeves. The printed cotton knit from Fabricana caught my eye right away. It was pricey…about $30.00 meter…but I had to have it! I bought just .5 meter with the plan to play with colour blocking. I made two versions…this one and the one in the collage.
We’re at English Bay soaking up some late summer sunshine. This is one of my favourite spots for watching the sun set. Stanley Park, a sliver of the West End, and the North Shore Mountains are in the background. Having grown up in Vancouver, I’ve always taken for granted the logs on our beaches. It wasn’t until out of town visitors commented on them, that it dawned on me….not every beach has strategically placed logs on them. Not just a conversation piece,….they make great backrests, windbreaks, and privacy walls.
Okay…fingers crossed that this publish button works! I’ll be back Tuesday with my contribution to #ginghamalong! Karen, from Did You Make That, is hosting a gingham sewing party and…well…you know my love for gingham.
